Quebec's CAVACs offer a variety of services for victims of crime, including short-term psychosocial support, as well as assistance with filling out certain forms—such as the IVAC—or support in court if you have been summoned to appear.
À noter : Il N'EST PAS NÉCESSAIRE de dénoncer ou porter plainte pour accéder à leurs services.
Complete a qualification application through their website: https://www.ivac.qc.ca/en/Pages/default.aspx
A list of eligible crimes can be found on their website, but it mainly covers crimes against persons. Unfortunately, their response times can take several months.
If your application is approved, you can then consult with professionals (social workers, criminologists, psychologists, etc.) who are IVAC providers to receive services at a reduced cost.
At AlloPsycho, some of our members are providers for IVAC and can offer you services that are covered by the plan.
By contacting SOS Violence Conjugale through their website https://sosviolenceconjugale.ca/en or by phone at 1-800-363-9010
They can refer you to shelters in your area and explain the free psychosocial support services available to you.
The CAVACs in the province of Quebec are also equipped to address this issue and, for the most part, can offer you free psychosocial support. Please see the tab above for more information.
