Psychological/psychotherapeutic care may only be provided by a professional licensed by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. This care aims to treat mental and emotional disorders through various therapies. Psychological care focuses on exploring the root causes of emotional and psychological problems.
In contrast, psychosocial counseling primarily explores the consequences and effects of the difficulties encountered, by identifying practical solutions and coping strategies.
Absolutely, we understand the importance of a strong, trusting relationship between the client and the caregiver. If you feel that the caregiver isn’t meeting your expectations, you can request a change discreetly and without causing any awkwardness.
During the initial psychosocial assessment session, the counselor will gather information about your personal and social history, identify your needs and challenges, and assess the resources available to you. Together, you will set goals and develop a personalized intervention plan, while building a relationship of trust to ensure effective follow-up.
